I have had the privilege of being the school counselor at New Boston Central School beginning in the school year of 2003-2004. I have dedicated all of my educational and vocational experience to the field of human services . I came to New Boston Central School with a Masters of Education in the areas of Counseling and Psychotherapy and School Counseling. I greatly enjoy visiting classrooms and working with small groups of students to help with skill building in the areas of empathy, emotion management, relationship building, conflict resolution, and problem solving. Academic achievement and career readiness are greatly enhanced and resilience is developed when these skills are present. I worked with other school counselors in SAU 19 to develop the district elementary school counseling curriculum as well as the bullying prevention curriculum for SAU 19. I am grateful to work in a school where all staff members are dedicated to providing an environment where students feel safe and respected so they have a special place to learn and grow.
